I screamed as the searing-hot air blasted out of the geyser and grazed my hand.
It hurt. Badly.
Why did I come here anyway? Someone has probably caught it already, so I'm just giving my hand a second-degree burn
for nothing(probably)!
I was in the cave, the Cave of Origin. And I was attempting
to catch Groudon, the Pokemon that shaped the continents. I couldn't tell if Groudon was in the cavern or not, for the air
was so thick with ash and steam.
I jumped out of the way just in time as another geyser
erupted, this time spewing lava. Oh, thank
gosh I avoided that, I thought, because I would turn into a yummy snack for the Pokemon I'm trying to catch!
Then there
was a great sound. A roar, a roar so loud it hurt my ears terribly. I shouted again as my eardrums throbbed with pain.
I knew then that Groudon was here.
I ran forward,
hopping out of the way of the geysers like a happy little elf. Soon a huge pool of magma and lava came into my sight. I shouted
again, but not in pain; I did this to get the Pokemon's attention.
The floor shook with its stomps and it came into sight through the steam.
Red plates covered its black skin, and its yellow eyes blazed like embers. Groudon's teeth were like razors when it
opened its mouth to snarl at me.
I did not hesitate.
I threw out my Butterfree, screaming, "Butterfree, go! Use Sleep Powder!"
Groudon's eyes
drooped as the spores dropped onto it, then it fell asleep.
Then I threw out my Swampert. "Swampert,
use Muddy Water! And DON'T KNOCK IT OUT!"
Lucky for me,
it didn't.
I chucked the Ultra Ball at the Pokemon. It bonked off of its head, and
then tehre was a flash of red light(which I couldn't see because there was so much red already).
The Ultra Ball lay on the island.
I did the dumbest thing I could ever do and jumped.
But I landed!
My gosh, I am so lucky today! I thought.
I grabbed the ball and leaped back
over, then recalled my Pokemon and began to exit.
Groudon was mine!
